So, if you’ve ever owned (or even driven) a Land Rover – whether a Series (I, II, III) or a Defender, you’ll be well aware of their not-so “soundproof” cabins!
As I had put-up with the droning for a couple of years, I thought that I would like to see if soundproofing “The Beast” made as much of a difference as “those that had it done” – said that it did..?
After reading-up on the options available, I decided that I would go for the Silent Coat 4mm option, a couple of boxes should do, at a couple of hundred quid (in total!)
The only other things that I had to buy was the rollers to do the job, one at approx 6″, the other at approx 1.5″ (think they’re normally used for Printers/printing purposes?)
First job then, strip the rear passenger compartment of it’s seating arrangements, then to (really) prepare & clean the whole area, just to make sure that when I’ve measured, trimmed & cut the SilentCoat panel – it’s going to stick – like sh*t-to-a-blanket, after all – I’d hate to waste any of this stuff, just for the sake of a few hours work scrubbing & cleaning.
